Caloocan City – In a strong push for justice and rehabilitation, JCI Caloocan Northgate successfully conducted free legal consultations for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at Caloocan City Jail on January 31, 2025.
Now in its fifth year, the Reimagining Freedom initiative serves as a local implementation of JCI Philippines’ National Program, “Beyond Prison Walls,” which focuses on the rehabilitation and reintegration of PDLs.
Volunteer lawyers from Berdin Law Office provided inmates with legal assistance and crucial guidance regarding their cases. The initiative aims to bridge the gap in access to justice, ensuring that PDLs are informed about their rights and legal options.
Metro Area Vice President Joey “JM” Moyaen, along with members from JCI Lakambini Davao and JCI Caloocan Northgate, emphasized the Metro Area’s commitment to creating opportunities for rehabilitation, fostering hope, and helping individuals reimagine their future beyond prison walls.
By providing free legal aid, Metro Area and its partners continue to advocate for justice, second chances, and meaningful change in the community.
