1st Lena Cup Drives JCI Manileña to ASPAC Recognition

At the 2025 JCI Asia-Pacific Conference (ASPAC) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, JCI MANILEÑA was named a finalist for Best Local Growth and Development Program for its flagship initiative, the LENA CUP Golf Tournament, championed by 2024 Local Organization President Lesley Anne Calixto Rubiano.
First teed off on June 2024 at Villamor Air Base Golf Club, the LENA CUP was conceived as more than a fundraiser. By rallying golfers, sponsors, and volunteers at dawn—the tournament raised funds to renovate neighborhood chapels and support JCI Manileña’s wider portfolio of community projects. Beyond generating resources, the event fostered fellowship, business networking, and membership growth, embodying the chapter’s commitment to holistic development.
Under Pres. Le-Anne’s leadership, the LENA CUP became a cornerstone of JCI Manileña’s member-engagement strategy: new recruits coordinated logistics, seasoned members mentored committees, and community partners joined hands to “drive toward a positive future, one swing at a time.” The program’s emphasis on teamwork and skills-building—budgeting, event management, stakeholder relations—mirrors the values celebrated in the ASPAC Growth and Development category.
This international recognition underscores the JCI Metro Area’s Drive for Change, proving that innovative, mission-driven projects can strengthen local communities while inspiring regional excellence. JCI Manileña’s achievement highlights how purposeful fundraising and member development can transform a simple sporting event into a catalyst for lasting impact.
